Seychelle Dual water filter pitcher replacement filter removes chlorine, chemicals, VOC's, pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals like lead, mercury, aluminum. It also reduces 85 to 90% of fluoride and arsenic. and a wide range of other contaminants It does not remove giardia and cryptosporidium so it is designed as a drinking water product to be used with chlorinated municipal water, and as a replacement for bottled water.. The filter cannot filter out sea water (salt water). The filter has a filtering capacity of 150 gallons or 6 months.
You should flush the filter before the first use with the red flushing bulb. You just screw it onto the filter and hold up to your faucet and slowly turn on your faucet until water starts to flow through the filter for a few minutes. This flushes the carbon dust that might be in the filter and also condition the filter for a better flow rate. You can also flush it periodically if the water flow slows way down.

Hello...I don't have a faucet that will allow the flushing mechanism to stick to it. Is there another way to flush it out?
You can try another faucet ( ie Bathroon or laundry room ) Manufacturer recommends an outside spigot when no other faucet will accommodate the flushing bulb. As they know it will fit correctly and flush properly

I have: 1-40500-2. PH Gen2 Pitcher replacement filters (2). What is the difference between the 40500 and the 40100...both Gen2?
Both of them will fit your pitcher! The 1-40100-2 Gen 2 pitcher filters remove the same contaminants they just DON'T raise the PH of your water. Where as the 1-40500-2 Dual Alkaline replacement filters will raise the PH plus remove the contaminants ( same as the Regular Gen 2 filters )

I have the two filter model, and the filters filter exremely slow sometimes never. What is the problem
The filters need to be flushed properly ( meaning the flushing bulb needs to fit correctly onto your faucet for flushing ) If it doesn't fit well try using an outside spigot to flush them. You will need to have good pressure for flushing them as well. The media inside the filters need to be completely saturated before they will work correctly. Sometimes it takes a few times flushing and using to get them flowing correctly as well. You may have to flush them periodically throughout the filter life as well.
