Is a water filter for fluoride really necessary?

A healthy body needs a certain amount of fluoride to keep the bones and teeth healthy, as well as having benefits for the hair, nails and skin. Fluoride is commonly found in toothpaste, certain foods and, more surprisingly, tap water and recent studies have shown that without a device to filter the fluoride from drinking water, we may be consuming too much.

Why is it recommended to filter fluoride from our water?

Although fluoride is needed by the body, most adults already have enough of it in their daily life that they do not need to have more of it in the water they drink. For a person drinking the recommended 8 glasses of tap water a day, they could be putting their teeth and bones at risk, and the intake of the chemical could also be damaging their hair and skin too. For this reason it is always recommended to filter fluoride out of water before drinking it.
