Chlorine In Your Shower Is It Bad?

Chlorine in shower water can cause dry skin and hair, itchy skin and eye irritation. In fact, chlorine exposure from one shower is equal to an entire day's amount of drinking the same water. And you may very well inhale more chlorine in shower water than you ingest by drinking it. So, drinking filtered water addresses only half the problem. When we inhale chemicals they enter our bloodstream and have magnified effects compared to ingesting the same chemicals which are somewhat filtered by the liver and kidneys. Good reason to buy a shower filter!

Unfiltered shower water can increase Your exposure to chlorine by absorption through the skin and by inhalation of chlorine vapors. Most shower filters remove 99% of chlorine for softer hair and smoother skin. You will be surprised at the difference a shower filter makes for your hair and skin in as little as a week. Shower filters are very easy to use and many filter out all of the harmful chlorine that we are exposing ourselves to on a daily basis. Plus some shower filters remove chloramines, VOC's, THM's, pesticides, sulfur, heavy metals, hydrogen sulfide ("rotten egg" odor), iron oxides ("rust water"), dirt, sediment and other odors..... and most are pH balanced!!

A warm shower opens up your pores. As a result, you not only inhale the chlorine vapors, you also absorb them through your skin, directly into your bloodstream. The EPA believes there is a measurable level of chloroform gas in most homes around the country. They beleive the cause as showering in chlorinated water. When vaporized in a hot water, it is also an irritant to the lungs, eyes, throat, sinuses. Scientific studies have linked chlorine to cancer of the bladder, liver, stomach, rectum, and colon, as well as heart disease. So protect your health and your loved ones and purchase a shower filter and start showering in filtered water. You have plenty to gain and nothing to lose.
